Nikon D5300 DSLR Camera body - Black
Worth buying
The Nikon D5300 isn't your typical premium DLSR. It functions as a kind of mid-tier camera that nonetheless has great shot quality with less jagged edges. This is thanks to the removal of the optical low-pass filter. The Nikon D5300 features a 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor that measures 23.5 x 15.6 mm in size and has a focal length of 18-55 mm. It is capable of shooting images at a maximum resolution of 6000x4000 and also supports 1080p video recording at 60 FPS. The ISO range is from ISO 100 to ISO 12800 and thanks to no anti-aliasing filter, you can capture images in low light with more detail and less colour noise than usual. The specifications of Nikon D5300 also include an EXPEED 4 image processor, 3.2 inch LCD display with 170 degree viewing angles and phase detection auto focus with. Shutter speed ranges from 1/4000th of a second to 30 seconds. Both auto focus and optical image stabilization are vastly improved this time around. Overall, whether you're capturing images using the 18-55 mm lens or you opt for the 18-140 mm lens, you'll receive excellent details in all settings. The Nikon D5300's price is Rs. 49,949 with the AF-S 18-55 mm lens and Rs. 66,699 with the AF-S 18-140 mm lens. It may come off as a tad expensive but for what you receive in return, both lens kits present excellent deals. If you need a strong inexpensive DSLR, the Nikon D5300 is definitely the way to go.

A great option
It's hard to read reviews of Nikon D5300 without having some high expectations in mind. After all, Nikon is renowned for its premium DSLRs. Thankfully it capably replicates this success on a slightly lower scale. A CMOS sensor with a 23.5 x 15.6 mm lens and 24.2 megapixel optical resolution make up the main specifications of Nikon D5300. It has an 18-55 mm focal length, an ISO range of 100 to 12800 (with an increment for 25600), shutter speed ranging from 1/4000th of a second to 30 seconds and 1080p video recording at 60 FPS. The Nikon D5300 also features a very sturdy build that is suited to those on the go. How does the image and video quality measure up overall? The Nikon D5300 stands out by being one of the few DSLRs to feature no optical low pass filter, thus ensuring less aliasing in images. The results are clear when shooting day time shots and close ups as colours are faithfully reproduced. Edges look amazingly sharp as well thanks to the new EXPEED 4 image processor. The Optical Image Stabilization is also a boon when taking 1080p video as you'll see very little shaking even during handheld operation. The price of Nikon D5300 is Rs. 49,949. This includes the AF-S 18-55 mm lens kit (with the AF-S 18-140 mm lens kit retailing for Rs. 66,699). As an overall camera, it's a great option for its budget segment and the 18-140 mm lens kit especially warrants a closer look.
