Micromax Canvas Doodle A111: Sub-par Performance!
********** Expert Review ******* While the Micromax A116 Canvas HD was meant to the be smartphone side of the company’s new range and the A115 Canvas 3D was meant to be…something, the A111 Canvas Doodle is the phablet side. It comes with a stylus, and employs a wider display while still keeping the quad-core CPU. It somewhat sacrifices the curves of the Canvas HD for sharper edges in keeping with LG’s Optimus line. The protruding camera lens is still conspicuous but doesn’t get in the way often. Build quality is strong, though we still have qualms about dropping it too many times. Also the back panel can be easily scratched so make sure to invest in a decent cover. The entire device feels light, for its size, and measures 0.39 inches thick. Specs The Micromax A111 Canvas Doodle features a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz with 512 MB of RAM and 1.22 GB of internal storage. This gives the device somewhat lesser performance compared to the Canvas HD, specifically due to the lesser amount of RAM. Multi-tasking is limited, though apps launch quickly enough. Navigating the interface at times feels sluggish, though nothing overtly terrible. The 5.3 inch display has an 854x480 resolution, lacking the Canvas HD’s 720p IPS display. This affects both the viewing angles and sharpness, though even colour quality is somewhat lacking as well. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB tethering and dual GSM SIM functionality. The rear camera has an 8 megapixel sensor with LED flash and auto-focus, though neither helps in the quality of pictures taken. Once again, natural light appears to the camera’s best friend since it suffers in low-light and in-door pictures. The amount of noise isn’t as much, and shutter speed is decent, but still strictly average overall. The Micromax A111 Canvas Doodle battery life is dependent on a 2100 mAh cell that lasts for a good 6 hours with heavy performance. Lighter usage – and this isn’t exactly a device which you’ll watch HD media on for hours – helps stretch it to a full working day but keep the charger handy. Android 4.1 Jellybean is the default UI with the usual bundled apps, like M! Live and M! Zone. At least the standard Google apps work well, but for a device with the name “Doodle”, the lack of such apps like the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 possesses is confounding. Pros: - Quad core CPU gives decent app performance. - Good pictures in natural light. - Lightweight and easy to handle. - Dual SIM functionality Cons: - Reduced RAM makes multi-tasking somewhat sluggish overall - Overall camera performance is subpar - 5.3 inch display features low resolution - Battery life could be far better - Lack of any real “doodling” or note-taking apps. Verdict: The Micromax A111 Canvas Doodle could have been a great experiment, had the manufacturer gone with including a stylus and some note-taking functionality. Even then, the lesser specs and sordid battery life make it hard to recommend. Stick with the Canvas HD for now.

canvas doodle
okay, guys, dats a lot of hub-hub abt Micromax now, bt check out d specs. the S5 delivers d same features as dose of d Doodle. ders one thing to be noted though, dat d screen of d Doodle is a bit larger wid a 5.3 inch screen, n d resolution has been decreased to 480 X 854, so you might sometimes find d colours blurred. on the oder hand, d S5 has a 5 inch qHD display wid a resolution of 540 X 960. if you want a larger fone n do not care much abt d display unit or d specs, you shld go wid Doodle, bt my choice sticks to d S5. n one more thing, when ppl look at d fone, dey tend to choose looks over specs so d S5 gets an upper hand here too. Good Luck making yr choice...

a good choice
this is the greatest phone that you can get at this price because at this price it is giving you a 5.3 inch touchscreen + qualcomm quad core processor. the display is crystal clear and the sound clarity is also amazing but the only thing which is less is the 512 mb ram which is dissapointing at this price point and another bad thing is that it has an outdated bluetooth that is v 2.1 .you also get a capacitive pen,a flip cover and two screen guards with it which is a great thing at this price point and if you like the big screen then you can go for it.
