HP ElitePad 900 Business tablet Silver

It may not be as sleek or lightweight as the Xperia Tablet Z, but it’s definitely as functional
HP continues its tryst with the business segment of tablet users with the ElitePad 900, a Windows 8 device armed with enough unique apps and additional add-ons to cater to most users. The device is designed quite typically, with a glossy finish and silver back panel with a rubber strip running across the top. Build quality is strong, though nowhere near what the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is offering. It’s also fairly heavier at 680 grams and measures 0.36 inches thick. It doesn’t hamper the device too much, but does prevent longer hours of use due to strain. The absence of USB ports is iffy in this age of hybrid notebooks but there are enough add-ons including a Docking Station and Expansion Jacket to remedy this. You can also find a Slim Bluetooth Keyboard to fully convert it into a hybrid laptop. Specs The HP ElitePad 900 features a dual core Intel Atom Z2760 Clovertrail clocked at 1.8 GHz with 2 GB of RAM with a 64 GB eMMC solid state drive. You can also add on more storage via microSD slot. As such, the tablet functions well enough – you won’t get the most sleek performance nor the heaviest but it works for what it can do. Business users should be able to get around well enough. The 10.1 inch, 12800x800 IPS display is quite enticing with strong viewing angles and good colour quality. The touchscreen is also incredibly responsive. Connectivity features include 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 with a decent overall browsing experience. The 8 megapixel rear camera has an LED flash and like the recent Sony Xperia Tablet Z, functions decently. It can take some good pictures given the right settings and is more general purpose then strictly geared towards professional pictures. Unlike Sony’s device though, it’s not light enough to be wielded effectively. The HP ElitePad 900 battery life benefits from the use of an Intel Atom CPU by running for about 10 hours at a stretch. HP also includes a battery pack to plug it into, if the life begins waning, and that makes for another 7-8 hours of performance. Windows 8 is fairly typical here and runs smoothly. HP included enough business apps to cater to executive users including Security Manager, Evernote, SpareKey, Drive Encryption and much more. They work well enough but Windows 8 is still quite limited compared to Android’s app selection. Pros: - 10.1 inch display looks good - Strong battery life; additional battery pack provided - Good build quality - Lots of connectivity options - Above average rear camera Cons: - Little heavy to wield as tablet - App selection somewhat limited - No USB ports on tablet - Need additional accessories to make into hybrid notebook Verdict: The HP ElitePad 900 is a winner for business users. With its strong battery life, decent performance and great display, it caters to those on the go admirably. It may not be as sleek or lightweight as the Xperia Tablet Z, but it’s definitely as functional.

HP ElitePad 900 - one of the best windows 8 tablet
HP ElitePad 900 is aimed at enterprises but is also attracting consumers too. Its a touch based laptop with a dock for better connectivity. Its powered by 1.8GHz dual core Atom processor along with 2GB RAM which enables this tab to handles all the computing requesting without any lags. Its a 10.1 inch device with corning gorilla glass 2 with touch screen. Its one of the best touch screens i have seen and touch does not lag and the display quality is good. It runs on windows 8 Pro which means all windows 7 softwares can also be executed along with new ones on this tablet without any issue. Though priced at 43,000 this device might sound pricey but its money well spent. The battery life is normal as it lasted 7 hours on continuous web browsing over WiFi. It has a 8mp rear camera with HD recording giving you one of the best images but lacks front camera so no video calling via skype which is a bad thing. Internal memory is 64GB with no support for memory card which is pretty standard for such devices but I expected it to support a mmc. Supports 3G, WiFi, bluetooth and has 3.5mm jack. The additional dock gives it the functionality it deserves. It has integrated keyboard, memory card reader, usb ports, HDMI ports and such connectivity options. Overall its a great buy for those looking for a windows 8 tablet.
