Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I see the premiums applicable to me?
You will be able to see the premium on the enrolment portal as part of your enrolment journey, based on the sum insured and deductible selection.
Who is the insurer and who is the TPA?
Aditya Birla Health Insurance Limited is the insurer and Zopper Insurance Broking Limited is the broker. Direct claim settlement will be done by Aditya Birla Health Insurance, and the TPA is in-house at Aditya Birla Health Insurance.
Is a base policy in my name required, and will this plan work with my existing insurance (or without a base)?
A base policy is not a prerequisite. You can enrol even if your coverage is under your spouse’s policy, by choosing at least the minimum deductible of 3 lakhs. This Super Top-up policy has its own coverage and is designed to work in conjunction with employer group health insurance, individual health insurance, or even with no base plan (you can pay the deductible out of pocket).
Would it require health check-up/tests or medical records before enrolment?
No, there is no requirement of a health check-up or sharing medical records during enrolment. Almost all individual plans require a medical test, which is often a hassle, but this group program does not.
How can I enrol for the program, and why is it only through the Web Portal?
You can enrol for the program through the ISB Alumni Web Portal, under the Insurance tab via this link. This program is limited to alumni; since all users of the Web Portal are verified alumni and part of the community, registration is enabled only through the Web Portal, and all registered members in the Alumni portal are eligible.
What is the entry age limit, and can I continue beyond 85 once I’ve joined?
Entry age is up to 85 years. Once an alum or a family member enters the program before 85 years of age, he/she can continue renewing the policy in subsequent years, even after crossing 85, as long as the insurance program continues with ISB.
Can I exit the plan and join back later, or skip a year and re-enter?
No, exit and re-entry is not allowed. If you do not renew your insurance in any renewal year, you will not be able to re-enter the program at a future date and will lose renewal benefits.
Are NRIs or foreign citizens eligible, and is treatment covered only in India?
NRIs and foreign citizens who are alumni can enrol (including to cover parents/in-laws), provided the policy jurisdiction remains India. Claims are payable for hospitalisations and treatment within India, and the deductible must also be spent in India for the Super Top-up policy to trigger.
Is there any co-payment required in the program?
There is no co-payment required in the program.
